Irish Sailing Introduction to Powerboating

The Irish Sailing Introduction to Powerboating Course is a 1 day Powerboat course for beginners introducing them to the exciting and enjoyable world of Powerboating. You'll get to learn some useful crew roles, the essentials you need to know to stay safe on board and get hands on driving experience on the course too!

This Powerboat course runs from our Training Centre in the village of Cong giving you the chance to explore Logh Corrib, its islands and the amazing surrounds of Galway and Mayo. 

Introduction to Powerboating Course Details

Objective: 

The aim of the Introduction to Powerboating course is to provide a short practical introduction to boat handling and safety on powerboats being used on all Irish waters.

Previous Knowledge / Experience:

No previous knowledge of powerboating is required or assumed

Duration: 1 Day   

 

Cost (16yrs +): €210

Juniors (12-15 year olds): €195

12 - 15 year olds may be booked onto this course also provided that they are accompanied by an adult who is booked onto this course with them. If you wish to book a Junior on their own please see our Junior Powerboat Courses page.

Junior participants will be trained in helming our smaller boat, with crew roles training delivered on both the smaller and bigger boats, ensuring we are operating within Irish legislation age requirements for the operation of craft at all times.
