Irish Sailing Powerboat Instructor Course

Powerboat Instructor Pre-entry Assessment: In order to qualify for entry onto an Irish Sailing Powerboat Instructor course you must first successfully complete the Powerboat Instructor Pre-entry Assessment. This assessment ensures that you have the pre-requisite skills and knowledge necessary to teach the National Powerboat Certificate in the Irish Sailing National Powerboat Training Scheme. Powerboat Instructor Course Details

The Aim

The Irish Sailing Powerboat Instructor course will develop your ability to teach people completing the following courses within Irish Sailing’s National Powerboat Training Scheme;

- Introduction to Powerboating

- National Powerboat Certificate.

The training will be provided by Irish Sailing Instructor Trainers and will take place afloat as well as ashore.

Duration: 4 Days

Powerboat Instructor Course Pre-requisites:

4 Day Course

- Minimum age 17 years

- Valid First Aid Certificate from approved course

- Powerboat Instructor Pre-entry assessment

- Irish Sailing Garda Vetting

- Safeguarding 1 Certificate

If you're already a qualified Irish Sailing Instructor in another discipline you can book onto a 2.5 Day Instructor Conversion Course.

Pre-requisites:

- Valid Irish Sailing Instructor qualification (e.g. Sailing or Windsurfing Instructor)

- Powerboat Instructor Pre-entry assessment

- Valid First Aid Certificate from approved course

- Irish Sailing Garda Vetting

- Safeguarding 1 Certificate

Certificate Valid For 3 years from date of issue; 5 years following re-validation or upgrade.
